Dear New Patient,

Welcome to Watauga Orthopaedics! I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself. I was born and raised on a small farm in the Southern Appalachian mountains. I am a graduate of the East Tennessee State University Honors Program and I received my doctorate of medicine at the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine in 2003. I completed my education with a five-year Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. I also completed an AO Fellowship with Dr. Ian Harris at the Liverpool Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

My practice includes sports medicine, reconstruction, and general orthopaedics. I particularly focus upon arthroscopic procedures involving the shoulder, knee, hip and wrist. I most frequently treat injuries and conditions that include meniscus, rotator cuff, labrum, arthritis, and ligaments (ACL). I also treat traumatic injuries, ranging from wrist fractures to complex lower extremity injuries. My practice also includes joint reconstruction of the hip, knee, and shoulder. I enjoy working with many area high school and collegiate athletes and have served as a physician for the St. Louis Cardinals, Johnson City Cardinals, Tusculum Pioneers, and Elizabethton Twins. Our practice provides yearly athletic physicals for many area high school athletes.

As a native of the area, I treat many friends and family members in my practice. I strive to provide you with the same compassion and attention as I would family. I provide each patient with as much information as possible so that they may make an informed decision about their own care. As an orthopedic physician, I feel I have been blessed with the opportunity to heal and I strive to use the latest treatments and techniques to optimize each outcome.

I currently reside in the Rock Springs area. In my spare time I enjoy boating, cycling, kayaking, and church. I enjoy spending time with family in the area. I also enjoy outdoor activities with my brother, a local game warden.
