Orthopedic Surgeon
Hip & Knee Replacement| Knee & Shoulder Arthroscopy
Dr. Thomas W. Gill, Jr., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in direct anterior total hip replacement, robotic-assisted total and partial knee replacement, and arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Furman University and his medical degree from East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Marshall University School of Medicine.
Dr. Gill performs direct anterior hip replacement using an intermuscular approach designed to support early mobility and recovery. For total and partial knee replacement, he uses robotic-assisted technology with three-dimensional planning and real-time guidance to help optimize implant positioning, alignment, and soft-tissue balance. Many appropriately selected patients may be candidates for outpatient joint replacement.
Dr. Gill emphasizes clear communication, patient education, and shared decision-making. He works with each patient to understand their goals, review surgical and nonsurgical options, and develop an individualized treatment plan.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Dr. Gill grew up in Johnson City. He and his wife, Gina, have two sons.
